MeeDeeHoops was made small, he has lived and grown. He camps, earns badges, and plays roblox. He is other and monstrous, but he is unbothered. Informed by my time as a Cub Scout Leader, childhood folklore, and my unceasing devotion to vintage dolls. Hoops wants you to feel his heart pound.
When Her talks to him he doesn't understand.Danielle Festejo is
GRIM REPRESSThrough themes of identity, decay, and mutation, Danielle invites the viewer to confront the unsettling. The titular character Her developed from a need to express all that feels difficult and complex, representing the artists autobiographical mainstay. Hoops fascinates Her.

Cats The Musical
The closest I have ever come to experiencing hallucinations was the night after watching the 1999 tapeing of Cats The Musical. When I squinted my eyes I could make out images in the dark that I would briefly recognize as cats.

Man Made Object
This image is inspired by the song of the same name by Lemon Demon. The song is sung by a man who is overwhelmed by the need to build an object he sees in his dreams. I wanted to create his dream, I want the viewer to feel the object as the man does, foreboding mixed with admiration. I want them to know this is grand, this is my responsibility.

She won’t let me in
This image describes a gentle fear that is sometimes present in my dreams. When I developed his print I had a small panic, the doll is very small in reality, but in the image becomes monstrous.

I know whats in the box
In this image I wanted to explore the disconnect between my internal knowledge and my dreams actual context. I often have the knowledge of something, who someone one is or why something is, without having learnt that information explicitly. I want the viewer to search for the box, not find it, and be no different for it.
